Das ist ein wahrlich komischer, wenn nicht sogar gruseliger Titel. Grund dafür ist der Name des Händlers, bei dem ich ein ppar Folien für meine Geräte gekauft habe: Marmelade Cat GmbH. Handys, Laptops, die typischen Alltagsbegleiter sind für mich Gebrauchsgegenstände, die durchaus mal einen Kratzer abbekommen können. Deshalb, und auch weil ich die “dicken” Schutzhüllen nicht so mag, bin ich vor zwei Jahren erfreulicherweise über die Skins von Marmeladecat gestolpert. Die Geräte werden erst gereinigt, anschließend klebt man die Skins drauf. Dazu gibt es Youtube Videos, die das gut zeigen und erklären. Ich habe mittlerweile zwei Handys und einen Laptop damit versorgt. Bei den Handys ist das Anbringen vergleichsweise einfach. Es kann passieren, dass die Seitenkante nicht perfekt abschließt und weniger als 1mm drüber stehen. Das merkt man am Anfang, wenn man das Handy in der Hand hat. Aber nach ein paar Wochen ist das alles glatt gerubbelt und fällt nicht mehr auf. Das Anbringen am Laptop war deutlich schwieriger. Ich habe auch gleich an mehrere Stellen blöde Fehler gemacht. Es gibt eine Installationsgarantie vom Hersteller, die erlaubt das zweimalige Tauschen bei Schäden, die beim Anbringen aufkommen. Das finde ich grundsätzlich eine tolle Sache. Am Ende lasse ich das aber trotzdem so, ich habe keine Lust mich mit dem Tauschprozess zu beschäftigen. Die größere Fläche der Folie war für mich beim Anbringen das Problem, und ich habe auch ein paar kleine Luftblasen trotz Fön nicht zu 100% entfernen können. Aber ich kann damit leben. Am Ende landet der Laptop immer ohne extra Hülle im Rucksack und wird so in den nächsten Monaten noch genug kleine Ecken und Fransen in den Sticker hauen. ...

It’ll still take some time until GTA VI will be released for PC, but I was in the mood for this kind of game and searched through my pile of Grand Theft Auto games. GTA V was the obvious choice but then I remembered the really good story from it’s predecessor and decided to give it a spin. Out if curiositiy I also checked out available mods for the game and found a few that promised to enhance the gaming experience and fix bugs, that Rockstar wouldn’t take care of. ScriptHook (only scripthook.dll) Compatability Patch for GTA IV Complete Edition (only aCompleteEditionHook.asi) FusionFix It’s actually only FusionFix, the other two are required for FusionFix to run. Well, I can say it certainly worked and once you find the proper path to the wine prefix on your disk the installation of mods is trivial. However, I did stumble upon an issue that is hard to debug. The first time I started the game with Mods it ran really well with around 165 frames. A day later, this was around the time I tried several other mods, the frames dropped to single digits and the game was no longer playable. I played around with the settings and disabled several mods. In the end I reinstalled the game but the issue persists. After a day of trial and error I arrived at acceptable 60 frames, but it still feels more sluggish then before. But it’s good enough for now and instead I want to focus on the compelling story again. ...
